Manchester to lead way for English clubs in Euros

Two Manchester City players scored at the Stade de France in Paris on Tuesday night, but only one of them is certain to feature at the European Championship next summer. Edin Dzeko had put Bosnia-Herzegovina on the verge of the tournament before their lead was cancelled out by City team-mate Samir Nasri's penalty with 12 minutes to go. The 1-1 draw put France through, Bosnia face the play-offs.

Even then, Nasri was not the most significant City player on Tuesday night. David Silva played beautifully for Spain against Scotland, scoring two and creating the other in a 3-1 win. Silva and Nasri will be joined by England's Joe Hart and Nigel de Jong (Netherlands), with team-mates Gareth Barry, James Milner and Adam Johnson also in contention for the England squad.

Manchester United will provide at least two England defenders, as well as Wayne Rooney, Ashley Young and Danny Welbeck. Patrice Evra (France)and Anders Lindegaard (Denmark) will be there – Nani might join them if Portugal win their play-off.

Chelsea will be represented by their experienced England players, Spanish duo Juan Mata and Fernando Torres, and Florent Malouda for France, with Arsenal's Bacary Sagna, Abou Diaby and Laurent Koscielny also set to be in Laurent Blanc's squad. Liverpool's England players will be supplemented by Dirk Kuyt (Netherlands), Daniel Agger (Denmark) and Pepe Reina (Spain).
