As football fans across the world come to terms with the end of arguably one of the greatest World Cups ever, German pen maker Stabilo have spent the past few days creating its own souvenir to remember Brazil 2014.

The 2014 World Cup witnessed 171 goals, the joint-highest number in the tournament's history.

Amidst that mass of goals netted over the month in Brazil, there were some incredible shots, as well some less glamorous ones: the Brazil World Cup saw the second-highest number of own goals ever.

With only a handful of organisations holding the rights to World Cup footage, the famous pen company Stabilo decided to use its expert penmanship to recreate the top three goals from the tournament in the form of a flip book.

Tim Cahill's volley against the Netherlands took third place, with James Rodriguez's chest and volley goal against Uruguay in second position. Rodriguez won the Golden Boot, scoring six goals for Colombia,

Yet it was Robin Van Persie's flying header in the Netherlands' opening game that Stabilo chose as the best goal, which they expertly illustrated in the video below.

Still, while there were no goals by Germany in Stabilo's top three, the German pen maker made sure its country got a nod in the flip book, with the final drawing showing Philipp Lahm lifting the World Cup trophy after their 1-0 win over Argentina.

The flying Dutchman's header was the equaliser for the Netherlands in their 5-1 thrashing of world champions Spain. It was given the usual treatment across Twitter and Facebook, with images showing the Dutchman as Superman, Super Mario and Peter Pan.
