Follow the latest reaction after Cardiff City were relegated from the Premier League after a 3-2 defeat against Crystal Palace.

Neil Warnock's side needed to win at home to stand any chance of catching Brighton and Hove Albion, who sit four points above the Bluebirds ahead of their Sunday encounter with Arsenal.

But Palace were always on the front foot early on and took the lead through Wilfried Zaha, and despite a Martin Kelly own goal levelling the scores, Michy Batshuayi soon restored the advantage. Andros Townsend added a third in the second half that proved to be the final nail in the coffin, and while Cardiff scored a late consolation through Bobby Reid, their relegation to the Championship was confirmed soon after. Good morning and welcome to The Independent's live coverage of Bournemouth vs Tottenham in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino's side could be forgiven for having more than one eye on Wednesday's semi-final with Ajax but they can guarantee Champions League football with a win at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon.

Bournemouth are very much set in stone in mid-table but will want to sign off in style in their final home game of the season.

Team news incoming veeeeeeeeery shortly.

There have been fitness tests for Bournemouth's David Brooks, Dan Gosling, Adam Smith and Dominic Sloanke.

Whilst Lewis Cook, Charlie Daniels, Simon Francis, Diego Rico, Junior Stanislas and Andrew Surman remain out.

Jan Vertonghen's head injury, which he picked up against Ajax on Tuesday, rules him out of the match for Tottenham.

Serge Aurier, Harry Kane, Erik Lamela and Harry Winks are also still absent, but Son Heung-min and Vincent Janssen are available after missing the Ajax game mid-week.

The game has all the feeling of an end of season match-up with very little stakes especially for Bournemouth who are safe in mid-table.

For Spurs though, a win today would see them secure a top four place and allow them to refocus the rest of their season on the Champions League, starting with the semi-final second leg against Ajax on Wednesday.

Team news

Bournemouth make four changes to the side that drew 3-3 with Southampton last week.

19-year-old Mark Travers makes his first senior appearance for Bournemouth as he replaces Artur Boruc in goal.

Jordon Ibe, Adam Smith and Ryan Fraser start, replacing Chris Mepham, Dan Gosling and David Brooks in the other three changes.

Mauricio Pochettino is looking to secure Champions League football next season as he puts out a strong starting XI for Tottenham.

Jan Vertonghen misses out with a head injury, while Fernando Llorente and Victor Wanyama drop to the bench.

Son Heung-Min returns to the team, with Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko also starting.

Mauricio Pochettino gives his verdict on Tottenham's situation:

"The problem now is it's a decisive period for us. It's a key moment. Playing the second leg of the semi-final and playing against Bournemouth.

"Now it's not to talk too much, to focus on our job and deliver. Finishing in the top four is our priority too.

"Maybe we're in circumstances that maybe aren't the best but now it's a moment to be all together. Being together is the best. Try not to think too much, go there and try to do what we want in the end."

Then at 5:30pm Cardiff host Crystal Palace in a must win game if they have any hope of miraculously staying in the Premier League next season.

Finally at 7:45pm Liverpool travel to Newcastle as they look to move back to the top of the table and put the pressure back onto Manchester City.
