Bit of a worry for Tottenham after the full-time whistle: Alli went down just before the full-time whistle and appeared to be complaining about cramp. He is now hobbling down the tunnel holding his hamstring.

Anyway, for now Spurs can celebrate on a crucial - if gruelling - victory.

... and here are five things we learned from that entertaining Boxing Day clash:

Alli and Kane are being interviewed.

"Can Mourinho make you world-class?" Alli is asked.

Both laugh.

"I don't know. I'm 23. I'm still developing and I need to keep working hard to make sure that I'm going in the right direction."

Mourinho: "I'm very happy with the second-half. We changed bits. Not players, it was about bits, little things that make a difference. In the first-half it was not a disaster, it was not a bad performance, it was a difficult game against a good team. And it's never easy after a defeat.

"We conceded a goal in a situation which is difficult to control. When you are exposed at free-kicks and corners it is hard. They have 3-4 giants that are good in the air and hard to control. The goal was that. They have monsters in the air.

"I think also the goal disallowed which was by one inch but offside, but it effects you.

"In the second-half though the boys put the negativity aside and it was a fantastic effort."

Mourinho: "It is difficult to go in Lucas' direction. I want to talk about somebody like Lamela. He didn't play, he trained only twice but he told me he was available. He told me he could play ten minutes. Of course Lucas was important but without the family spirit that second-half was impossible."

On Kane:

"He is part of Tottenham's furniture. When you are part of the furniture there is nothing more to say."

And Alli:

"Another goal. Another incredible performance. His workrate was incredible. These little big details are often more important. It was an amazing goal, but his attitude and fighting spirit for the team was outstanding."
