United are set to be busy this summer and appear to be closing in on their second signing of the off-season. Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka appears close to a move after a breakthrough was finally reached between the two clubs that will see the England Under-21 international move to Old Trafford for upwards of £50m . Sporting's Bruno Fernandes could well be close behind with the Red Devils now the favourites to sign him too.

It won't just be incomings, however, with Paul Pogba anxious to leave with Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain circling. Romelu Lukaku is all set to leave for Italy too while the club are desperate to get Alexis Sanchez's £500,000 per week off the books. Follow the latest live news below.

Meanhile, Arsenal are set to push on with their first signing of the summer with a deal for Celtic's Kieran Tierney close. Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser and Belgian international Yannick Carrasco are also options being considered but money could be tight for Unai Emery and Co.

Champions Manchester City don't have any such problems and look set to strengthen an already stacked squad. Leicester City's Harry Maguire could arrive in a club record deal while Atletico Madrid's Rodri and Juve's Joao Cancelo appear near certainties to join him in what looks to be another busy summer at the Etihad.

The second half of Tottenham's double swoop is for Leeds United winger Jack Clarke, who has caught the eye after the club's near-miss with promotion last season.

The 18-year-old is poised for an £8.5m move to Spurs, according to Sky Sports, and it's hoped that he will follow a similar career trajectory to Dele Alli in developing his trade with the north London club.

Philippe Coutinho has admitted he's uncertain over his future at Barcelona.

The Brazilian is currently on international duty at the Copa America, but endured a turbulent season with the Spanish champions and was targeted with jeers by some supporters.

Spurs' move for Jack Clarke is developing quickly, with reports emerging that the teenager is already in London and undergoing a medical ahead of an £8.5m move that would signal Tottenham's first signing since Lucas Moura joined from PSG on 31 January 2018.

If all goes well with Clarke's evaluation, we could see the traditional contract signing pictures with Mauricio Pochettino imminently.

Wissam Ben Yedder is not the only France-based player Manchester United are on the prowl for as reports are linking the club with a move for Lyon's 15-year-old attacking midfielder Mathis Rayan Cherki.

The teenager is rated as one of the most promising youngsters in the French game, but Lyon face a fight on their hands to keep him at the club as he's already attracted the interest of Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, who have all sent scouts to watch him.

The Telegraph reports that United have joined that race in trying to lure him away from the Ligue 1 club's academy, though they clearly face powerful opposition.

Simon Mignolet's future at Liverpool is coming under scrutiny as the Evening Standard reports that the Belgian is wanted at Crystal Palace.

The former No 1 has two years remaining on his contract at Anfield, and it's claimed that Palace are willing to spend £8m on him to bring him to Selhurst Park this summer.

At 31 years old, Mignolet is keen on first-team football, but whether Liverpool can be tempted into selling is another matter.

However, ESPN claim that Liverpool are reluctant to sell Mignolet as they want to offload Loris Karius this summer, and will only allow him Mignolet to leave if they receive a good offer above his market value.

Manchester United have their breakthrough!

The club have finally made progress with Crystal Palace in their pursuit of defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with the 21-year-old top of the Old Trafford wish list after weeks of talks.

While the move is not yet confirmed, The Independent understands that the two clubs have reached an agreement, and United can now discuss personal terms with the England Under-21 international.

Here's northern football correspondent Mark Critchley with the latest:

Details of the agreement are emerging, with Manchester United getting their way in talking Palace down from the original £70m valuation to an initial £45m fee paid up front, plus £5m in add-ons depending on how his career pans out at Old Trafford.

The move will also see Wan-Bissaka land a 700 per cent pay rise, with the 21-year-old seeing his salary go from £10,000-a-week to a sizable £80,000-a-week - though importantly it falls well within United's current salary structure that should not cause too many issues among the establishment at Old Trafford.

Away from Manchester United, the hunt for Rafa Benitez's replacement as Newcastle United boss continues, with no signs of a new manager being appointed any time soon.

One thing we do know though is that it will not be Jose Mourinho.

The former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United manager was spuriously linked with the job if a takeover is secured and money invested into the club, but even if that finally happens at St James' Park, the Portuguese has made it clear he will not be the next manager at Newcastle.
