It's that time of the year. The latest edition of Football Manager has been released.

That means hours of lost time searching the deepest darkest backwaters of football to find a future star, staying up late to ponder over your formation for the second round of the League Cup and lots of cliches about the game. Lots and lots of cliches.

To celebrate the release one Irish team has come up with a genuinely superb idea to promote themselves and the game.

Most players start with one of the big boys to get a feeling for the new game, plus a transfer war chest in the millions.

Cabinteely FC, ask you to make the game a little bit harder for yourself and drop way down the football food chain to take charge of their side.

The Dublin-based team, who play at the 1,300-seat Stadbrook Road, will offer a free season ticket for next season to the first person who gets them promoted and then wins the Irish Premier Division.

"This Friday sees the launch of the 2016 edition of Football Manager, the first to have Cabinteely F.C. in the game," read a statement on the club website.

"To celebrate this fact we are running a competition to win a Cabinteely F.C. 2016 season ticket. To be in with a chance of winning you need to achieve our ultimate goal and win the Premier Division as manager of Cabo!

"The player will need to earn promotion from the First Division before winning the Premier Division so be sure to start with Cabo as soon as you can once the game launches on Friday! Simply email us a screenshot when you achieve this impressive feat!

"The first player to win the Premier Division and submit their screenshot will be the lucky winner of the season ticket! Send your screenshots to loioffice@cabinteelyfc.ie"
