Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger already has one eye on next season after effectively securing Champions League football with a routine 3-1 victory over struggling Hull City.

A brace from Alexis Sanchez either side of Aaron Ramsey's neat strike gave the Gunners a comfortable first-half lead before Stephen Quinn pulled one back for the Tigers in the 56th minute.

The Frenchman believes his side can finally rival champions Chelsea for the Premier League title next season, but has set his sights on finishing as high as possible this term first.

He said: "We created some good moments today, overall I could see a good mix between focus, fluency and confidence - and with the technical qualities we have we created some good moments.

"It is all about finishing second for us, step by step, I believe now we are certain to make the top four and now it is about finishing second but even more so to keep the quality high and concentrate on the next game."

The North London outfit also have an FA Cup final to prepare for, against Aston Villa, but Wenger believes his side are making progress in a number of areas.

"Being in the cup final helps us to keep our concentration but I feel we have made progress and we want to continue to develop as a team."

England international Jack Wilshere returned from a long-term injury to make a short cameo in the second period as Arsenal ran out comfortable victors at the KC Stadium.

"Jack returned and had a good game in his 25 minutes so that is a big positive. Aaron Ramsey got a big kick and that is swollen but it should not be too bad."
