Manchester United have signed a five-year sponsorship deal with an Indian telecoms company in a further sign of the European champion's global commercial expansion.

The deal with telecom services provider Airtel was announced today at Old Trafford by chief executive David Gill.

Airtel customers across India and Sri Lanka will now have access to United content, including matches and interviews.

The Premier League champions are looking for a new shirt sponsor from the 2010-11 season to replace insurance company AIG.
