The bizarre trend of taking a picture of oneself shows no sign of slowing.

In a year that saw one of the great World Cups, the Commonwealth Games come to Glasgow and Europe retain the Ryder Cup, there was ample opportunity for the biggest names in sport to snap away.

No event escaped back-to-front camera action, with the highlights of the football calender including Manchester City's Premier League title triumph and Arsenal's FA Cup victory getting the treatment.
