'You've been Hodged': Roy Hodgson becomes the latest 'face' of Twitter after new account photoshops his face on players' bodies
The England manager's face has appeared on a number of different stars' bodies around Europe
The latest Twitter parody account to take the social media world by storm goes under the name of ‘You’ve been Hodged’, where a number of footballers have had England manager Roy Hodgson’s face photoshopped onto their body, with comical results.
From David Beckham to Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo to Luis Suarez, no player is safe from being ‘Hodged’, and interest in the account has rocketed to over 29,000 since its creation on January 8 this year.
Hodgson, famed for being visibly expressive on the sidelines (having seen his facial expressions compared to that of owls in the past on other social media sites), will hopefully see the funny side of this light-hearted joke, and not let it deter his attentions away from his plans for the 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil later this year.
The competition will be the second World Cup Hodgson has attended having guided Switzerland to the last 16 of the 1994 World Cup in the United States of America. Having taken the Three Lions job just before the 2012 European Championships, Hodgson will be hopeful of a more successful campaign having had the full two years to prepare for the tournament this time round.
