STAR PLAYER

Ikechi Anya

The winger offered the greatest threat for the home side with his pace and driving runs down the flanks and it was his cross that Odion Ighalo should have turned home in the first half.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

Capoue's miss: Only narrowly trumping Ighalo's clanger in the first half, Capoue somehow headed over from two yards out with the goal at his mercy in the second period.

VIEW FROM THE BENCH

Neither Ronald Koeman nor Quique Sanchez Flores will be pleased with the draw, which extends the teams' winless starts to three matches. There will also be concerns about their sides' performances, given how toothless each appeared in attack and the two bosses may have been persuaded to dip further into the transfer market before the window closes.

MOAN OF THE MATCH

Two teams who were renowned last season for their attacking prowess struggled for any fluency or sustained possession and each contributed equally to an underwhelming contest.
