Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that striker Danny Welbeck will not be available to face his former team Manchester United on Sunday.

"I would love to have him available but we will have to do without him," the manager said today.

The England striker has been sidelined since late April. He has already scored the winning goal at Old Trafford once this season already, in the 2-1 FA Cup sixth-round win in March.

Aaron Ramsey is a doubt, after only returning to training today, but Wenger said he should be "alright". Ramsey has been struggling after picking up a knock in the Gunners' match against Hull a fortnight ago.

The trio of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mathieu Debuchy and Mikel Arteta are all still out.

"Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mathieu Debuchy and Mikel Arteta are not ready. Danny Welbeck has a little possibility to be fit," Wenger said yesterday.

"Aaron Ramsey is not in training yet but he should be better tomorrow. I don't think we have any big injuries, maybe Welbeck will be available but at the moment he looks short.

"I don't know how long the others will be out for, it's difficult to say, but hopefully they will play again this season."

United will leapfrog the Gunners up to third place should they win.
