Speaking in a Twitter question and answer session today, Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla ruled himself out for the Gunners’ vital Champions League match against Napoli at the Emirates Stadium next Tuesday, but did reveal he hopes to return for the Premier League match at West Brom the following Sunday (6 October).
The Spaniard has missed the north London club’s last four matches with an ankle injury, and responded to a question asking when he will be fit to return by saying: “I will be fit maybe in one week, I hope I can play at West Brom.”
The 28-year-old, who was one of the standout performers for Arsene Wenger’s side last season, picked up the injury while on international duty.
Cazorla’s return will boost an Arsenal midfield suffering a spate of injuries, with Theo Walcott, Tomas Rosicky, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Abou Diaby currently sidelined.
