Nacho Monreal has said Arsenal must win all eight of their remaining Premier League games to stand a chance of winning the title.

Arsenal are currently 11 points behind league leaders Leicester and six behind Tottenham - with a game in hand over both.

The Gunners resume their campaign this weekend with a home match against Watford in which they will have to start a run of winning results according to the club's full-back.

"Right now we’re in third place so I think the only objective we need to set for ourselves is winning the eight matches we have left and then what will be will be," said Monreal.

"It’s not just down to us. Even if we do win all eight games that doesn’t mean we’ll be champions, but what does depend on us is winning those eight games."

Should Arsenal win all eight games, they would finish the season on 79 points. To surpass that total, Leicester would need 14 points from their seven games - or four wins and two draws. Tottenham would need 19 points from their seven games - meaning they wouldn't be able to afford to lose a single game either.

Arsenal last won eight games in a row around this time last year - putting together the stretch with wins over Leicester, Crystal Palace, Everton, QPR, West Ham, Newcastle, Liverpool and Burnley between mid-February and mid-April.
