Striker Eduardo da Silva could play for Arsenal again in three weeks, manager Arsene Wenger said today.

The Brazilian-born Croatia striker suffered a fractured left leg and open dislocation of his ankle in a Premier League match against Birmingham City in February and there were fears at the time that the injury could be career threatening.

"Eduardo is three weeks away from playing competitive football," Wenger told Arsenal's website (www.arsenal.com).

The news on the club's Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky is less positive, however, with Wenger predicting that his hamstring injury will delay his return until after Christmas.

Rosicky, who like Eduardo missed Euro 2008, has not played since January.
