Arsenal’s social media team got a little carried away on Sunday as they celebrated Aaron Ramsey’s goal against Aston Villa by crediting him with a hat-trick, despite the match finishing 2-0 to the Gunners.
Olivier Giroud put Arsenal ahead with a first-half penalty after Theo Walcott was pulled back by Alan Hutton, before Ramsey got on the end of yet another Mesut Özil assist to double the lead shortly before the break.
Arsenal looked to be well on their way to another victory after their mid-week exploits against Olympiakos, and with it came the lead in the Premier League given that Leicester do not play until Monday night when they take on Chelsea.
However, the Gunners’ Twitter account got a bit over-excited, as the score rapidly increased from 1-0 to 4-0 in a matter of seconds.
The tweets were soon deleted by the account, leaving the score at 2-0 and Ramsey with the correct haul of one goal against Villa, with Arsenal failing to find the back of the net in the second half.
