Chuba Akpom scored a hat-trick as Arsenal began their pre-season tour in convincing fashion with a 4-0 victory over a Singapore Select XI at the Singapore National Stadium. Jack Wilshere, who started the game, also added a penalty.
The match was part of the Barclays Asia Trophy event, and the Gunners will face Everton in the final of the friendly tournament on Saturday, after the Toffees defeated fellow Premier League side Stoke City 5-4 on penalties after their match earlier on today ended 0-0.
The 19-year-old Akpom opened the scoring in the rout, lashed in the ball low after Wilshere's jinking run into the box after 30 minutes.

Wilshere then made it 2-0 from the penalty spot on the hour, calmly sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. Akpom added a third, also from the spot, in the 76th minute before completing his hat-trick three minutes later.

Petr Cech, who signed for the Gunners for £11m from Chelsea earlier this summer, was not included the squad, but it is expected he will play some of the Everton match at the weekend.
Arsenal: Martinez, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Gabriel, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Monreal, Flamini, Akpom, Coquelin, Iwobi.
Subs: Szczesny, Bellerin, Zelalem, Crowly, Toral, Willock.
