Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has named transfer victim Ron Vlaar in his starting line-up against Hull City - just one day before the window shuts.

Shay Given, back in the Ireland squad, is on the bench as Lambert opts with Brad Guzan in between the sticks.

The Villa strike force is aided by Andreas Weimann's presence while new signing Carlos Sanchez remains on the bench.

Fabian Delph, now in the England squad, could be joined by Tom Cleverley in the heart of the Villians' midfield should the move be wrapped up before tomorrow's deadline.

Hull, on the other hand, hand new signing Michael Dawson a first start in a Tigers shirt while Steve Bruce also plays with Stephen Quinn and Tom Ince on the flanks.

Aston Villa: Guzan, Vlaar, Senderos, Hutton, Cissokho, Delph, Westwood, Richardson, N’Zogbia, Weimann, Agbonlahor.

Subs: Given, Baker, Bacuna, Cole, Bent, Sanchez, Grealish.

Hull City: McGregor, Davies, Dawson, McShane, Elmohamady, Huddlestone, Livermore, Robertson, Quinn, Jelavic, Ince.

Subs: Harper, Rosenior, Bruce, Meyler, Brady, Sagbo, Aluko
