Tottenham defender Federico Fazio knows exactly why there is no need to panic as the pressure mounts on manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The White Hart Lane side have won just one of their last seven Premier League games, but Fazio said: “It has not started very well but last season, [when I was] with Sevilla, we had four or five matches when we were not doing well in the League but still managed to finish fifth.”

So what is the problem at Spurs? “We need to be more focused and brave,” he admits.

“Tottenham are a good team who want to fight to be at the top of the table but we have to earn the right. A win against Aston Villa would be a good start.

“Our objective is to improve and move higher up the league but there is no need to panic, there is still seven months left of the season.”
