Burnley host Brighton this weekend as two teams clash needing points down at the bottom. Despite being one and three places above the relegation zone respectively, their plights are not quite as precarious as they might be after a couple of recent results.

The Clarets beat Liverpool and Aston Villa not long ago, before back-to-back defeats in their most recent outings, including the midweek 2-0 loss against Manchester City. With the two teams immediately below them failing to claim wins in their last four, Burnley have an eight-point cushion between themselves and the drop zone.

Brighton are two points and two places better off and have been on their best run of the season of late, winning three of their last four league matches.

That includes successive 1-0 victories over first Tottenham, then in midweek over Liverpool at Anfield. The Seagulls are on a run of losing just one game in their last eight across all competitions, while they have taken clean sheets in four straight league games, highlighting their recent improvement. Another win here would take Graham Potter's team up to 14th.

When is the match?

The game will kick-off at 3pm on Saturday, 6 February at Turf Moor.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Ultra HD. Subscribers can also stream the game via the Sky Go app.

What is the team news?

Burnley will have to hand late fitness tests to a host of players, the most vital of which are strikers Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood, and midfielder Josh Brownhill. Left-sided pair Robbie Brady and Charlie Taylor could also return to provide some freshness to a team which had no impact at all against City in midweek.

Brighton are still without right wing-back Tariq Lamptey and striker Danny Welbeck, while left wing-back Solly March also went off injured in midweek. Joel Veltman and Alexis Mac Allister could return after missing the win at Liverpool, however. Jose Izquierdo and Alireza Jahanbakhsh are also out.

Predicted line-ups

BUR - Pope; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Pieters; Gudmundsson, Westwood, Cork, McNeil; Barnes, Rodriguez.

BRI - Sanchez; White, Dunk, Webster; Veltman, Gross, Bissouma, Burn; Lallana, Trossard, Maupay.

Odds

Burnley - 37/13

Draw - 9/4

Brighton - 23/18

Prediction

A tight game with few chances, given how few each of these sides tend to give up in matches. Injuries might just harm Brighton's hopes of extending their unbeaten run. Burnley 1-0 Brighton.
