Cesc Fabregas still has a chance of beating Thierry Henry's Premier League assist record after taking his tally for the season to 18 at the weekend.

His corner resulted in John Terry's goal for Chelsea against Liverpool and it puts him just two behind Arsenal legend Henry who created 20 goals during the 2002/03 campaign.

To beat the 12-year-old record Fabregas must lay on some chance in Chelsea's final two games of the season which are against West Brom at the Hawthorns on Monday night and then at home to Sunderland on the final day of the season.

Fabregas acknowledged he was aware of the record earlier this season.

"Of course, I would like to beat Thierry's record, but it's not an obsession," he said.

However, despite that assertion that it's not his only focus, he revealed a cunning plan to try and beat it following the match on Sunday.

"I told [Eden] Hazard I'll pass you the ball, and you shoot every time [against Liverpool]," said the 28-year-old.

Needing just three more goals, ahead of the final two games he'll probably be asking every team-mate to shoot as soon as he passes it to them.
