Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois says the struggling Premier League champions must reach either the Champions League or FA Cup final to salvage their season.

The Blues, languishing in 13th in the table, face Paris Saint-Germain next Tuesday night before a fifth-round FA Cup match with title-contenders Manchester City.

“We play against two great sides and we have to try to win those games,” said Courtois.

“The only way to save our season is to reach the final in one or both of them.”

Guus Hiddink’s men are still 17 points adrift of the top four following the 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.

“Obviously every time we don't win in the league, and there is one game less, there is less chance to get into the top four,” the 23-year-old told Chelseafc.com

“We will see where we are with five-six games in a row and see whether we can get there or not.”

Meanwhile Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has denied speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea in the summer.

“There's nothing to it,” he told Sky Italia. “I cannot either confirm or deny something that doesn't exist.

“I want this matter over and done with now. What's important for me right now is to get to the end of the season with Juventus and try and win some silverware.”
