Follow all the action as Chelsea welcome Sheffield United to Stamford Bridge this afternoon.
Frank Lampard’s side have shown serious improvements in recent weeks, having now kept a clean sheet in their last five successive matches, and can move into the top four with a victory.
It’s been a different story for Sheffield United so far, though, with Chris Wilder’s side taking just one point from their opening seven games. Furthermore, the Blades have only scored three goals in total and desperately need a result to kickstart their season. Follow all the action below live:
15 min
The passing from both teams is a little cautious and safe at the moment. Fernandes goes for goal from distance but his effort slams into Sigurdsson and flies behind for a corner.
10 min
United are forced into some defending as Everton start to find their rhythm. A wicked cross from Digne is headed clear, and moments before that a ball across from Coleman proved too long for everyone in the box.
9 min
Digne wins a corner, which is whipped into the box by Sigurdsson but headed away at the near post by Fernandes.
6 min
Everton attack for the first time as Rodriguez sends a pass out to Digne on the left. The full-back finds Bernard, whose curling cross is flicked towards goal by Calvert-Lewin. The header loops towards goal but drops just over the bar.
5 min
The game is being played almost exclusively in Everton’s half, although the hosts seem to be content for United to dominate possession. As we’ve seen recently, Solskjaer’s side tend to struggle when tasked with breaking down compact defences.
3 min
Another slick United move ends when Fernandes tries to slip a pass through to Martial. The away side are on the front foot early on.
1 min
A fast start from the visitors as Shaw is played in down the left and cuts the ball back into the box. Bernard is back to intercept and clear.
Kick-off
After a moment of silence ahead of Remembrance Day, United get us underway.
The players make their way out at Goodison Park. This has the feel of a very big game for both clubs…
