Eric Dier signs new five-year deal to keep him at Tottenham until 2021
Dier is the latest star to commit his future to the club after Christian Eriksen signed last week
Eric Dier has committed his long-term future to Tottenham by signing a new contract to keep him at the club until 2021.
The 22-year-old signed from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 for £4m and after being moved from right-back to central midfield has become one of Spurs’ key players.
He has also established himself as an England regular and was one of the only members of the Three Lions squad to return from the disappointing Euro 2016 campaign with any credit.
The move comes a week after playmaker Christian Eriksen signed a new contract as Tottenham look to reward their stars with a wave of new deals, with Harry Kane and Kyle Walker expected to follow suit.
Tottenham are preparing for their first Champions League game in five years this week when they take on French side Monaco at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday.
Dier is expected to retain his place for that game alongside Eriksen and Dele Alli after Spurs recorded a convincing 4-0 win away to Stoke on the weekend.
