It has not been easy-going for Arsenal of late but, so comfortable was their victory at Everton this afternoon, Alexis Sanchez found time for a breather.
The Chile international was chasing the ball by the corner flag during his side’s 2-0 win when, all of a sudden, he realised he was not going to be able to apply the brakes.
Sanchez’s fast feet carried him all the way into the stands, which sit notoriously close to pitch at Goodison Park.
Two spectators held out their hands to help Arsenal’s talisman slow himself down and prevent him from suffering an unfortunate injury. So, to say thanks, he provided a moment of light relief.
The 27-year-old proceeded to sit down in the vacant front row seats that had nearly sent him flying and watch the game as a spectator, for a few brief seconds at least.
Overall, he’ll have been pleased by what he saw. First-half goals from Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi gave Arsene Wenger’s men all three points, with Everton offering little resistance.
The win moved Arsenal to within three points of second-placed Tottenham and within eight of league leaders Leicester City.
