The teams are out on the pitch. Kick-off is just moments away!

1' - We are underway at Goodison Park!

Liam Corless22 October 2017 13:30

2' - Chants of "super Jackie Wilshere!" break out in the away end. The midfielder is on the bench for Arsenal.

Liam Corless22 October 2017 13:32

3' - Close! Alexis Sanchez cuts in from the left wing before dropping the ball off to Mesut Ozil. The German's first-time lay-off is perfect for the onrushing Aaron Ramsey but he puts the ball wide of Jordan Pickford's far post from just inside the penalty area.

That really should've been the opening goal.

Liam Corless22 October 2017 13:35

7' - Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez link up well for Arsenal in the final third and it is the former who feeds the ball to Alexandre Lacazette. However, the Frenchman lets it run too far before shooting and the angle is too tight for him to get a meaningful effort on goal.

Arsenal have looked very threatening in these early stages.

Liam Corless22 October 2017 13:39

9' - Arsenal cut through Everton's defence like a hot knife through butter and they really should be in the lead.

This time it's Aaron Ramsey who feeds Alexandre Lacazette after a slick attacking move but Jordan Pickford manages to make himself big and deny the French forward from just six yards out.

GOAL! Everton 1-0 Arsenal (Rooney)

12' - Great strike. Granit Xhaka is dispossessed by Idrissa Gueye in a poor area and the Everton midfielder feeds Wayne Rooney, who bends a shot past Petr Cech and into the top corner from outside the area.

Against the run of play but Everton's fans won't care.

Liam Corless22 October 2017 13:43

16' - Close! Ashley Williams gives a free-kick away in a dangerous position around 25 yards from goal. Jordan Pickford can't keep hold of Alexis Sanchez's initial effort but he gets up quickly to deny Aaron Ramsey on the rebound.

Liam Corless22 October 2017 13:48

18' - Alexandre Lacazette squares up Ashley Williams in the Everton penalty area before drilling a shot towards Jordan Pickford's goal. The ball deflects off Williams and into the side netting.

Arsenal don't seem too fazed after conceding the opening goal, which is quite unlike them, if we're being honest.
