It was another wild weekend in the Premier League as Liverpool were thrashed by Aston Villa and Manchester United were hit for six by Tottenham – and that was just Sunday evening.
Elsewhere Chelsea and Everton both scored four with the latter securing their place at the top of the tree over the international break. Newcastle beat Burnley, West Ham stunned Leicester and Leeds earned a hard-fought point in a thrilling duel with Manchester City.
Another bagful of goals meant an array of fantasy football scores, with plenty of top players like Kevin De Bruyne failing to make their mark, while others like Son Heung-min produced big hauls despite being sold by FPL managers in droves during the week.
Without further ado, here’s the Fantasy Premier League team of the week:
Alex McCarthy, Southampton – 11 points: McCarthy kept a clean sheet against West Brom and also made three saves, which earned him a saves point and two bonuses.
Ben Chilwell, Chelsea – 18 points: A dream Premier League debut for Chilwell who may never rack up as many points in a single gameweek again. He scored Chelsea’s opener and assisted too, adding a clean sheet and maximum bonus points to collect a huge haul.
Aaron Cresswell, West Ham – 15 points: Owned by less than 2% of fantasy managers, the left-back produced a sublime display down the left flank making two assists and a clean sheet to collect all three bonus points.
Kurt Zouma, Chelsea – 13 points: A goal, a clean sheet and a bonus point saw Zouma join teammate Chilwell in the team of the week.
Jorginho, Chelsea – 15 points: Another Chelsea player who performed well, scoring twice from the spot to rack up 15 points.
Son Heung-min, Tottenham – 18 points: Sold by so many during the week following his hamstring injury last weekend, Son rewarded those patient enough to stick with him by scoring two and assisting one in a destruction of Manchester United.
James Rodriguez, Everton – 18 points: The Colombian continued his impressive start to life in the Premier League, scoring twice and getting one assist to collect exactly the same haul as Son.
Jack Grealish, Aston Villa – 24 points: A sublime performance by the Villa captain set his side on their way to thrashing Liverpool 7-2. Grealish was involved in most of the goals in some way or another, scoring twice and assisting three times in the victory.
Harry Kane, Tottenham – 16 points: Another impressive showing from Kane who scored twice and collected an assist too for that first Son goal.
Callum Wilson, Newcastle – 16 points: Two goals and an assist for Wilson as Newcastle hammered Burnley.
Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa – 19 points: A sensational hat-trick against the champions was some way to open his Villa account. One to watch.
