Fulham are taking on Aston Villa this evening at Craven Cottage as Scott Parker’s newly promoted side search for their first points of the season.

Fulham struggled against Arsenal on the opening day but were much improved against Leeds, eventually going down 4-3. But they will need to tighten up defensively, having already shipped seven goals and looking highly susceptible at the back, something which proved their undoing in the Premier League two years ago.

Villa got off to the perfect start beating Sheffield United and will be eager to continue that momentum in what could well be a battle between two relegation fighters come the end of the season. Follow all the action below:

Jurgen Klopp seems quite taken aback by Roy Keane’s claims that Liverpool were “sloppy” at times tonight. “This was absolutely exceptional, nothing was sloppy, it was absolutely dominant against a team in form,” the Liverpool manager tells the Sky Sports studio. “The football we played was absolutely exceptional.”

It might have been very different had Lacazette buried that second-half chance, with the score at 2-1. Alisson, as ever, did his job when called upon, though, and Arsenal can’t really have many complaints about losing.

Full time

That’s it! Liverpool make it three wins from three, and this might have been their most impressive performance of the new season. Arsenal, for all their effort, found it impossible to contain the champions. There were signs of promise for the Gunners, but they, like most clubs in the division, are still some way off Liverpool.

There’ll be three minutes of added time as Alexander-Arnold drills a cross beyond everyone and out for a goal kick.

Firmino’s night is up. He’s replaced by Minamino.

GOAL! Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal (Jota)

Jota won’t be denied this time. Another excellent Alexander-Arnold cross is headed away by Luiz, but only as far as the substitute, who controls with his thigh and rolls a volley into the bottom corner. A perfect start to life at the club for Jota, and that will put the game beyond Arsenal.

Liverpool threaten to score a third again as Wijnaldum plays the ball across to Jota in the box. He looks set to shoot from close range, but Salah, approaching from behind, tries to take the ball off him and succeeds only in allowing Leno to claim the loose ball.

Pepe takes another poor corner, sending it low and straight at Robertson. Arsenal haven’t really created much since that Lacazette chance, which is probably why the Frenchman looked so distraught after being taken off. That was the moment for the visitors.
