Jose Mourinho walks out of virtual press conference

Jose Mourinho walked out of a virtual press conference after Tottenham’s goalless draw with Bournemouth on Thursday night claiming he could not here the journalist’s question.

19th-placed Bournemouth almost beat Spurs, but for a late winning goal to be ruled out by VAR, and Mourinho appeared in no mood to chat after a result which saw his side fall to ninth in the Premier League, below their rivals Arsenal, who travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday for the north London derby.

After some technical difficulties, a journalist asked: “Hello Jose, can you here me?”

“No,” Mourinho replied, before removing his headphones and walking off screen.

Having overcome some initial connection issues, Mourinho did answer some earlier questions, criticising his players’ display and questioning VAR on an earlier incident in which Harry Kane had a credible claim for a penalty.

“The performance was not good enough, but good enough to win,” he said. “In the world everybody knows that is a penalty. And when I say everybody, I mean everybody.”
