Jurgen Klopp faces a tough start at Liverpool that will see him take on three of the club's top six rivals within the first five games.

The German coach has agreed a three-year deal at Anfield and will be asked to take the club back into the Champions League with a top four finish in the Premier League.

A good start will help make that achievable, but with away games against Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City among the first five matches, it won't be easy.

Klopp's first game in charge will involve a trip to White Hart Lane to play Spurs. Mauricio Pochettino's side are on a decent run of form that sees them unbeaten in the league since the opening day of the season. However, Klopp can take solace that Liverpool have beaten Spurs in their last five meetings. A few of them were in style, with the scorelines reading 3-2, 3-0, 4-0, 5-0, 3-2.

Liverpool fans will get their first look at Klopp at Anfield in the Premier League the following weekend. A tricky match against Southampton awaits following a Europa League tie with Rubin Kazan on the Thursday before.

Then to Stamford Bridge for the first of what could become an intriguing rivalry between Klopp and Jose Mourinho. Chelsea might be struggling of late, but a trip to face the champions in just his third league match in charge probably isn't the ideal way to begin. The game will be played a few days after a Capital One Cup tie at Anfield against Bournemouth.

Returning to Anfield, via a lengthy Europa League trip to play Rubin Kazan, will see Klopp up against Crystal Palace, a team that have been brilliant on the road under Alan Pardew. The Eagles have won 10 of 12 away games under their current manager.

To round-off Klopp's first five league games will be a trip to the Etihad to play pace-setters Manchester City.
