Leicester fan wins £33,000 after £5 bet on Foxes winning the Premier League
Keval Nakeshere opted against cashing out early
A Leicester City fan touched down for a holiday in Florida to find himself more than £33,000 richer from a £5 bet on the Foxes to win the title.
Keval Nakesheree was jetting over the Atlantic as the East Midlands city held its breath to see if Tottenham Hotspur could beat Chelsea on Monday night and keep the title race alive.
Spurs could only draw the game 2-2, handing Leicester the league and sparking massive celebrations in the city.
Mr Nakesheree, of Gloucestershire, placed a £5 each way bet on Leicester at 5000/1 back in August and managed to avoid the temptation of offers to settle the bet by Ladbrokes.
He booked the trip to Florida for the family in March, when the Foxes were odds-on to win the league and won £33,333.
He said: "Some fans cashed out of their title bets in March - I booked a holiday.
"Just like King Claudio I missed the big game as I was flying but as soon as I touched down I checked the result and the outcome I had always believed in was finally a reality."
He added: "I always had the faith in Leicester defying the odds and never thought to cash out for a second.
"I got a good feeling earlier in the season and booked the trip thinking I'd come back just in time for the trophy tour, but they got it wrapped up even sooner than I thought."
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: "We've never known a fan as confident as Keval. Not cashing out is one thing, but missing the decisive match because you've already spent your winnings on a holiday is another altogether."
