Liverpool will face Celtic in a pre-season friendly at Dublin's Aviva Stadium.

The match will be staged on Saturday, August 10, kicking off at 5.30pm.

"We last played Celtic almost a decade ago so we are thrilled to get this event in our pre-season calendar," chief commercial officer Billy Hogan told liverpoolfc.com.

"Both at Liverpool and Celtic, we are fortunate to have two of the most passionate fan bases in the world and this fixture in Dublin is a chance to bring them together once again."

Liverpool already have pre-season games lined up in Indonesia, Melbourne, Thailand and Norway, with captain Steven Gerrard's testimonial against Olympiacos on August 3 also included in the preparations.
