Adam Lallana has not recovered in time to feature against Blackburn Rovers in Liverpool's FA Cup quarter-final replay.
The £25million signing limped off with a groin problem at half-time of the defeat against Manchester United a few weeks ago and pulled out of Roy Hodgson's England squad.
After missing the humbling defeat against Arsenal on Saturday there had been hope that the 26-year-old would be fit in time for the game at Ewood Park.
Lallana did train with the rest of the squad but is unlikely to be risked against the Championship club.
