Jordan Henderson and Paul Pogba will both watch Liverpool vs Manchester United from the bench as the old rivals clash in the Premier League.

But it is better news for Nathaniel Clyne, who makes his first start of the season after recovering from injury.

Marcus Rashford is preferred to Anthony Martial in attack for United.

Diogo Dalot faces his biggest game as a United player, starting at Anfield, while Fabinho is trusted in a crunch derby encounter by Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Clyne, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Keita, Fabinho; Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Mignolet, Henderson, Sturridge, Moreno, Lallana, Shaqiri, Camacho.

Man Utd XI: De Gea, Dalot, Smalling, Lindelof, Darmian, Ander Herrera, Matic, Rashford, Lingard, Young, Lukaku.

Subs: Romero, Bailly, Valencia, Fellaini, Mata, Pogba, Martial.

Liverpool are top of the league following their win at Bournemouth and Manchester City’s slip-up against Chelsea last week; they also secured Champions League qualification via a 1-0 win against Napoli on Tuesday.

Manchester United were less successful in midweek, as they slumped to a 2-1 loss at Valencia; Jose Mourinho’s side did stroll past Fulham last week though, and United haven’t lost at Anfield in the league since September 2013.
