Liverpool return to Premier League action this evening following their European exploits earlier this week.

With their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League secured, attention now turns to consolidating their place in the top four. That means seeing off the challenge of Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth, who have all but guaranteed their Premier League status.

Joel Matip, Emre Can and Adam Lallana are all unavailable for the hosts while Bournemouth will be without defender Adam Smith.

Post-match reaction from Olivier Giroud

Giroud came off the bench to score twice as Chelsea came from two goals down to beat Southampton in the day's early game.

"In football you always have the opportunity to bounce back.

"We've shown great character, great spirit and I'm very pleased for the team today.

"I used to say that football is about new beginnings. You always need to question yourself. In tough moments it's important to show character. I've been through some difficulties in my career and it's important to come back stronger."

This is what Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson had to say this week ahead of his side's relegation six-pointer against Brighton at Selhurst Park.

"I expect them really to show that belief. The table affects so much, the pressures from the outside weigh on players, but as a football coach there's only so much you can really do about that.

"We are where we are and these last five games could be very nervy occasions. We're going to be very anxious and there's no doubt that the anxiety will find its way from the crowd out on to the field and all I can hope for is that the players show their experience and stand up to it.

"There's nothing you can do or say other than make it clear that you've got confidence in them."
