Brendan Rodgers has made two changes to the side that were so thoroughly beat by West Ham at Upton Park last week.

The Liverpool manager last week started with a diamond but will change to a 4-2-3-1 formation for this one, with Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic coming in the team for Fabio Borini and Lucas.

Daniel Sturridge is not yet fit enough to make the bench, while Mamadou Sakho is dropped from the squad after his poor performance in east London.

After their shock defeat to Crystal Palace at Goodison Park last week, Roberto Martinez has also wrung changes.

Veteran defender Sylvain Distin is the one to pay the price for Everton’s poor defensive record, with Tony Hibbert coming in at right-back and John Stones moving into the middle.

That is one of four changes made by Roberto Martinez, who has also dropped Leon Osman, Christian Atsu anad Samuel Eto’o from the starting XI, in favour of Muhamed Besic, Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith.
