After collapsing like a soggy sandcastle on the south coast last weekend, Jurgen Klopp will hope his Liverpool side can rediscover their form against one of the Premier League’s crisis clubs.

Slaven Bilic’s future at West Ham United has been cast into doubt after that 5-1 shellacking at the hands of Arsenal last weekend. The Hammers will be hoping to avoid another heavy defeat.

12 mins: Jordan Henderson is one of those players who, no matter the situation, always plays football with his mouth open.

15 mins: Jurgen Klopp's team are enjoying themselves down the left. The goal aside, there have been two other occasions in which Liverpool have got beyond the West Ham back line on that side of the pitch. Most recently it was James Milner who got to the byline but his cross to the middle was headed clear by Winston Reid.

20 mins: Steven Gerrard has been spotted in the Anfield crowd. He's probably telling the bloke next to him, 'Have I ever told you about the time I played against West Ham in the FA Cup Final?'

23 mins: Just a thought, but that West Ham ground is going to look rubbish in The Championship.

27 mins: GOAL! LIVERPOOL 1 WEST HAM 1:

Maybe we'll never find out! Dimitri Payet has equalised at Anfield, but it is inevitable that the spotlight will once again be shone on the underfire Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius. After Adam Lallana had felled Pedro Obiang 22 yards from goal, Payet clipped a free-kick over the wall and into the bottom corner, but that only tells half the story. Out of position, Karius was late and slow to get down to the shot and really should have blocked the shot before it nestled in the back of the net. Game on!

32 mins: It's hard to know how the game has progressed since the equaliser because the director has decide to focus attentions on a series of long close ups of Loris Karius. Interesting tattoo if nothing else.

35 mins: He's bad, but he's not that bad. Taking control of possession just inside the Liverpool half, Aaron Cresswell drove forward and took aim from more than 30 yards out. Swerving the wrong way, even Karius couldn't be troubled by that effort.

36 mins: During a break in play, Martin Tyler talks to Alan Smith about alliteration. Next week, Geoff Shreeves chats to Niall Quinn on allegory.

39 mins: GOAL! LIVERPOOL 1 WEST HAM 2:

West Ham have turned it around! And it has stemmed from another blunder in the Liverpool defence! Joel Matip allowed a long ball forward to bounce, and his misjudgement meant Michail Antonio was able to nip in and flick an effort beyond the stranded Loris Karius.

42 mins: Liverpool look stunned by those quickfire West Ham goals, and despite their domination of possession, they're now struggling for ideas in the final third. In short, they are missing Philippe Coutinho.
