Who will win the Premier League?

Liverpool beat Wolverhampton Wanderers but failed to win the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp's side had already pulled off one miraculous comeback this week but couldn't do it again after City won at Brighton. The Reds did their part however with Sadio Mane tapping home the opener after just 17 minutes before the Senegalese added a second 10 minutes from time.

Here's how it played out:

A look back through English top flight history tells us that the last side to top the table on the final day and not win the league were Liverpool in the 1988-89 season.

How fitting then would it be if Liverpool were the first side of the Premier League era to win the League from behind on the final day?

Is it destiny? We'll find out in just over three hours time.

Jurgen Klopp makes two changes from the side that beat Barcelona on Tuesday.

One of the mid-week heroes Georginio Wijnaldum replaces James Milner in mid-field and Mo Salah returns as Xherdan Shaqiri drops to the bench.

The visitors have arrived at Anfield, Wolves' captain Conor Coady is a Liverpool fan but his side could ensure that the Premier League trophy lands in Manchester instead of Liverpool today.

Liverpool are on their longest unbeaten run in top flight history having won their last eight games.

Anything other than a loss today would mean they are unbeaten at home in consecutive top-flight seasons for the first time in 39 years.

And a victory would equal the club top-flight record of 30 in a season, set over 42 matches in 1978-79.

A half-century for Alisson today, his experience has been vital for Liverpool this season and he's one of the reasons they're within touching distance of a first Premier League title.

Out of the two teams vying for the title Liverpool have the more difficult of tasks.

Wolves have already beaten Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United in the Premier League this season.

But only two teams to finish lower than sixth have beaten as many as five of the sides to finish in the top six in a single Premier League campaign – Southampton in 1997-98 and West Ham in 2015-16.

Wolves are 7th in the League.

Kick off is 15 minutes away. What are you predicting?

I'm going for Liverpool to score early and win 2-0 with Man City leaving it late to beat Brighton 1-0 in the 88th minute.

The odds are against Liverpool but any sign that an upset is on the cards is very welcome.

One of them is that Brighton boss Chris Hughton is the last manager to beat Manchester City on the final day of the Premier League season, when he was at Norwich.
