Manchester City transfer news: Leroy Sane feels ‘at home’ and wants to sign contract extension
Pep Guardiola’s side have been in negotiations with Sane's representatives over a new deal since October

Leroy Sane has stated that he’s hoping to sign a contract extension at Manchester City as he feels ‘at home’ at the club.
City have been in negotiations with Sane’s representatives since October as the club look to tie the 22-year-old to a long-term deal.
Pep Guardiola’s side have already successfully extended the contracts of Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson, Gabriel Jesus, Nicolas Otamendi, David Silva and Fernandinho in the past 13 months, as they look to secure the future of their high-profile players.
“From the beginning, when I arrived here, I have been really happy. I enjoy playing with the coach and the players,” Sane said.
“They are all amazing but most importantly they are all amazing people and good characters.
“I have felt really at home here since day one and of course [signing an extension] is possible.”
Sane was left out of the City squad during the early part of the season, having been a shock omission from Germany’s World Cup squad, with Guardiola stating that the winger had returned to the club ‘far away’ from his best in pre-season.
However Sane, who joined City from Schalke for $37m in the summer of 2016, has resurrected his form in recent weeks, tallying six goals and six assists in his last 11 Premier League appearances.

“Even if I am not playing for a certain time, I am still happy to be here and to play for this club, to work with these players and the coach,” Sane continued.
“He is doing it good. Every one of us knows that we have to rotate sometimes because in every single position we have more than one or two good players.
“Obviously there is a time when you do not start from the beginning. You have to accept it. I think it is also good to put more pressure on everyone.”
Guardiola played down any potential difficulties over the deal last week, insisting things were “going well” despite the protraction of negotiations, and that he hoped Sane would stay at the club “for many, many years.”
