Manchester United chase three records to add to title

Manchester United hope to become champions of England for the 20th time tomorrow, but Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to establish even more records this season. To tie up a 13th Premier League title this week – all under Ferguson – Manchester City must lose at Tottenham this afternoon then United win at home to Aston Villa tomorrow night.

The manager prefers to clinch the title at home, although he admits: "If you asked me that three months ago I would have said anywhere with a last-minute goal, which we are good at."

Despite being seen as one of United's less dominant squads, the current group can still set a club record by taking 12 points from the remaining five games, which would give them 93 – one more than the 1994 Double-winning side. Thirteen points ahead of City today, United can also still beat their own best winning margin of 18 set in 2000, and if they win all five games they will beat Chelsea's record points total of 95.

If Villa win tomorrow it will mean that Reading and QPR are both relegated.
