Manchester United have come through the worst of their injury crisis ahead of this weekend's match against Chelsea.

The situation was so dire at one point that Louis van Gaal claimed it was the worst injury crisis he had seen in his long managerial career.

10 players were sidelined, but in United's most recent game - the 2-2 draw with West Brom - some made their return.

Ander Herrera returned from a rib injury, although the Spaniard was taken off at half-time, fuelling concerns about his readiness for this weekend.

Angel Di Maria was also substituted in the match at the Hawthorns and is also a doubt.

Better news for Manchester United is that Michael Carrick has a strong chance of featuring at Old Trafford against the Premier League leaders. The England international featured on the bench for the first time this season and should be ready for some time on the pitch against Chelsea if required.

Captain Wayne Rooney remains suspended.

Here, we take a look at Manchester United's injury list...
