Carlo Ancelotti has reiterated his desire to distance himself from rumours linking him with the Manchester United job, and insists that he intends to remain the Real Madrid manager for a “long time” despite the vacant seat at Old Trafford.
The Italian has been mentioned as a possible successor to David Moyes, following his dismissal last Tuesday, but despite various reports that he could leave Real at the end of the season, Ancelotti maintain she is perfectly happy in the Spanish capital.
The 54-year was speaking ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg with Bayern Munich, where his Real side hold a 1-0 advantage over the defending champions, and the Evening Standard
“I respect everyone,” said Ancelotti.
“I haven't had contact with Manchester United.
“I want to stay at Real Madrid for a long time. It's strange to discuss my future in the middle of a Champions League semi-final.”

Ryan Giggs is the most obvious choice after being installed on a temporary basis after Moyes' departure. Others in management who served as a player under Sir Alex Ferguson include Roy Keane, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, both Neville brothers and Steve Bruce. Mark Hughes played for United along with Gordon Strachan and Laurent Blanc. While none of them have particularly overachieved in any of their positions, a former player tends to be popular with fans, and can be rewarded with success.

Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs has been placed in temporary charge of the reigning Premier League champions and oversaw a 4-0 victory on Saturday.
But despite growing calls for the Welshman to be given the job on a permanent basis, most notably from Wayne Rooney, it is thought United are seeking an experienced replacement for the new campaign.
