Manchester United: Marcus Rashford reveals how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is superior to Jose Mourinho

The England striker has been handed a key role under the Norwegian this season

Marcus Rashford has revealed how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s superior understanding of how a player feels gives him an advantage over Jose Mourinho.

The Manchester United forward has been given a key role under Solskjaer, swapping with Anthony Martial between the side’s No 9 and left winger this season.

The Norwegian’s hot start has cooled after replacing Mourinho at Old Trafford but Rashford insists he remains better than the Portuguese in one way.

“He’s very different but that’s expected because he’s played,” Rashford told the BBC.

“Off the pitch, he understands the players a bit more.

“I don’t think it was a problem for him because he’s obviously a top manager and he has his way of reading people but for me, when a manager has played they have lived the lifestyle and might be a bit more understanding.

“Everyone’s confident in the manager, for one, and we may not be doing what he’s telling us to perfection yet but the initial response to his tactics, his training has been phenomenal.

“For me, his plan, it’s not just a plan for just this season or just the next game, it’s a plan for years.”
