Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: Manchester United 'always believed' in PSG comeback

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering legal action against bookmaker Paddy Power after his likeness was used in a betting advert allegedly without his permission.

A picture of the Manchester United interim manager, who is set to take the job permanently after a spectacular run of form since taking over at Old Trafford, was used for a Brexit-themed joke alongside odds of him being made boss full-time.

Solskjaer was shown the newspaper advert, which read: "Theresa, time to try the Norwegian mode?" while being interviewed by Norwegian news outlet NRK.

Although the 46-year-old initially found the ad amusing his mood soon soured and he confirmed that he would be contacting his legal representative.

"I promise you I will send this to my lawyer," he said. "They will have big problems with me. It is a betting company, I should not have anything to do with it."

Solskjaer's lawyer Erik Flagan added: "This is illegal. The use of personal images in a commercial context without the consent of the depicted is illegal both in Norway and England.

"In this type of case, it is common to first prohibit and demand compensation. This is done routinely on behalf of Solskjaer in all such cases."

Earlier this week Solskjaer's side overturned a 2-0 home loss - his only defeat in 17 matches at the helm - by triumphing 3-1 against Paris Saint-Germain to progress to the last eight of the Champions League.

The club return to Premier League action this weekend with a chance to make a mark in the top-four race at fellow challengers Arsenal.

"No problem whatsoever," Solskjaer said of the squad's focus. "We have gone through to the quarter-finals, which is what we sometimes expect of Man United.

"But it was the way it happened and the celebrations at the end, it just happens when you win a game like we did.

"But then again, no problem - we've got Arsenal, a fantastic game to get yourself ready again."

United head to the Emirates Stadium on a club-record winning streak on the road.

PSG was their ninth successive away win in all competitions - a run that includes January's 3-1 FA Cup fourth-round triumph at Arsenal.

"It's the same decisions you always have when you go into a game," Solskjaer said when that win in north London was brought up.

"One, you've got to consider their approach, which system do you think they will play, which is impossible to predict because they change a lot.

"But then you need to look at who is fit and how we want to approach the game as well. We've got Arsenal, a fantastic game to get yourself ready again."
