Manchester United have opted to knock £4 off the price of away tickets bought by their fans from the trip to Fulham on November 2 until the end of for the season.

The Premier League has set aside £200,000 for each top flight club to encourage more away fans at grounds.

After consultation with their Fans' Forum, United decided to reduce the price of tickets, rather than cut the cost of official travel, as Stoke have done.

United confirmed the full discount will also apply to concessions but will not be applied retrospectively and does not include cup games.

"Refunds were considered but the administrative work involved in tracing and refunding individual payments to each of the travelling fans is prohibitive," read a United statement.

"If there is any money left over, that will be added to next year's £200,000.

"If there is a shortfall this year, the club will honour the commitment to the £4 discount."
