Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech says that his new team can emulate his former side Chelsea and win the Premier League this season.

Cech, who signed for Arsenal from Chelsea for £11m, was part of the Blues squad which won the Premier League title last season, and says that he is "positive" of achieving the same feat with the Gunners this season.

Speaking to Match of the Day magazine, the 33-year-old Cech said when asked of his Arsenal predictions for the season: "I think it’s possible. The team had a great season last year [finishing third] – that is a platform to build on and I believe we can make the step forward."

Cech also revealed in the interview that he converses with his new manager Arsene Wenger in French, as the Czech Republic international is fluent in five languages.

"I can, yes! I speak five languages which actually makes it easier when you join a new team. You can settle much quicker because you can help team-mates much faster and better. People need to be careful around me, though – I can understand everything."
