Miguel Delaney: Is this Manchester City title the greatest of all time?

The 2018 PFA team has been unveiled with champions Manchester City making up the majority of the side with five representatives.

Nicolas Otamendi, Kyle Walker, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero, in a first for him, have all been named in the side.

David de Gea is Manchester United’s sole representative, as is Marcos Alonso for Chelsea and Mohamed Salah for Liverpool.

Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane make up the remaining three players.

As with previous years, all Premier League players will have cast their vote for the team of the year.

There was, though, no recognition for any Burnley players, despite the Clarets enjoying a fine season and challenging Arsenal for sixth place, which could yet see them secure European qualification.

City duo De Bruyne and Silva are shortlisted for the PFA's player of the year award, along with club-mate Leroy Sane after all three helped Pep Guardiola's side win the Premier League.

Kane, Salah and De Gea are also nominated, with the winner set to be announced at the PFA's annual awards ceremony in London on Sunday, April 22.
