Manchester United pair Phil Jones and Michael Carrick were in the away end at Anfield to watch their team take on Liverpool, and the former looked to be loving it when Wayne Rooney put the visiting team ahead.

The duo were spotted on the terraces surrounded by Manchester United supporters for their side's 1-0 Premier League win over their arch rivals.

Jones hadn't been selected due to an ankle injury while Carrick recently picked up a knock which meant he was also unavailable to manager Louis van Gaal.

Despite his injury, Jones was still fit enough to join in the wild celebrations when Rooney broke the deadlock after 78 minutes.

The England international tweeted a video of himself after the match, along with the message: "Our Fans are the best! Buzzing!"

Manchester United fans lucky enough to have had a ticket for the match appeared to be relishing being joined by the pair, with some posting selfies with them on social media.

Manchester United's 1-0 was enough to move them up to fifth, with Liverpool remaining ninth.
