Right, here we go.

Unai Emery’s first competitive match in charge of Arsenal will be against Premier

League champions Manchester City in what is the hardest start possible for Arsene Wenger’s successor.

The Premier League released the 2018/19 fixtures on Thursday morning, revealing the mouth-watering clash between what will be a new-look Arsenal side starting a new chapter and Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering side of last season – who became the first team in English league history to secure 100 points.

As if Emery’s start was not hard enough, Arsenal will follow their opening weekend fixture at the Emirates Stadium with a trip to London rivals Chelsea – two games that could easily see Arsenal six points off the pace inside two rounds if last season’s form is anything to go by – with the Blues opening their campaign against Huddersfield Town.

Liverpool will look to build on their Champions League final appearance by challenging City for their crown, and Jurgen Klopp’s side open up their campaign against West Ham United in what will be Manuel Pellegrini’s first game in charge of the Hammers.

Manchester United start the season at home against Leicester City, while Tottenham are away at Newcastle United with doubts still surrounding how soon they will have White Hart Lane up and running – given they have already enquired about the availability of Wembley Stadium for the early part of next season.

Promoted Championship winners Wolverhampton Wanderers will mark their return to the Premier League by hosting Everton at Molineux, while Fulham entertain Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage and Cardiff City travel to Bournemouth.

The remaining opening weekend games sees Southampton host Burnley at St Mary’s and Watford entertain Brighton at Vicarage Road.
