Swansea came very close to snatching at least a point in the first Premier League meeting between the two clubs last November, but Angel Rangel’s mistake allowed Javier Hernandez to score the game’s only goal.

It was perhaps a typical United away performance over the last couple of years as they ground out yet another victory.

They will head into Christmas top of the Premier League regardless of Sunday’s result but with Manchester City’s match at the Etihad viewed as a home banker, Sir Alex Ferguson’s side will look to maintain their six point advantage.

KICK-OFF: Sunday, 1.30pm

PAST THREE MEETINGS…

Manchester United 2 (Scholes, Young) Swansea 0, Premier League, May 2012
